Winnsboro is in Wood County, northeast of the Wood County seat, Quitman.   Winnsboro is centered around the intersection of Texas Highways 37 and 11.  It is between Interstate 20 and 30, north of Tyler, and south of Mount Vernon.

The Winnsboro City Auditorium is located at the Winnsboro City Park on Wheeler Drive, north of East Coke Road and south of East Carnegie Street.
